Most common fences near family houses in the Slovak Republic are considered minor construction, for which you usually do not need a building permit, but in many cases it is necessary (or at least recommended) to report to the relevant building authority. The whole process is usually not complicated - you just need to fill out a simple form and attach a sketch of the fence location.However, under specific conditions (e.g. a fence in a conservation area, a high or technologically demanding wall, a protective function by a road), the situation may change and the building authority may require a building permit with project documentation.
